Latonya Slack JD, CPC
Founder, Behind The Veil and Slack Global Consulting

Latonya looks for ways to weave spirit, energy, and intuition with social justice, nonprofit management, philanthropy, and law. As a facilitator and coach, she is most interested in supporting others to connect to their best and highest purpose in life. A truth seeker, she uncovers the inner workings and strengths behind the veil of nonprofit social justice leadership as affirmed by women of color founders and directors. Her work celebrates and affirms the stories and lived experiences that makes the way we lead, not only necessary but different. Grounded firmly in an intersectional perspective centering race and gender, her work uplifts and affirms BIPOC nonprofit leadership through storytelling and a coach approach. Raised in the deep south, Latonya has lived for 30+ years in the city of angels where she enjoys hosting the occasionally rowdy and always competitive game night.

Morgane Garnier (they/she) is a community organizer, transnational being, and aspiring decoloniser. Their work centers on transforming violence and systemic oppression through collective healing, consciousness-raising, and creative expression. Garnier’s roots lie in the French colonial empire, the lands of the Kickapoo, Osage, Muscogee and Caddo people in what was once designated “Indian Terrority” (now Oklahoma) and in Korean-American immigrant communities in the occupied land of Los Angeles that, to this day, is inhabited and cared for by the Tongva, Tatavian, Searrno, Kizh and Chumas Peoples. Their multiracial and multicultural upbringing shapes how they visualize and organize for the liberation of all beings. They feel fortunate to highlight the revolutionary contributions of women of color to social justice leadership with BTV and continue to expand their perspective of social change, community, and healing in partnership with Latonya and Iyanu.
